Chloe Castro is an artist and objects conservator based in Oakland, California.

She studied History and Sculpture at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. She then went on to earn her MFA in Historic Preservation from Savannah College of Art & Design.

She became fascinated with steel and welding techniques in college, creating several sought after pieces. Since then she has enjoyed studying new materials, even if they don't involve fusion. With her personal projects, she is currently focusing on what she can make with gilding and gouache on paper and vellum.

Working as a conservator has allowed her to constantly learn about new materials. From ancient ceramics, to mirror-finish metals, to vintage butterfly specimens, conservation has provided her the hands-on study of hundreds of objects; each one providing a new lesson.
